The origin of the work is an old photograph from the Basel Zoo, which shows an animal keeper together with his protégé. Claudia and Julia Müller allude here to the relationship between man and animal and leave the viewer in the dark as to whether this is a mere game or a fight for life and death. Man and animal are on an equal level with each other and come together in unity through the colour design. The colouring cannot be assigned to either of the two worlds and therefore corresponds more to the design of a design object.  The sculpture is thus removed from its original context—associations, interpretations, and impressions, however, are further intensified.
